Have you been looking for a simple and effective time management method? Would you like to immediately improve your focus and productivity? If your answer is yes, you’ve come to the right place. It’s time to get rid of distraction, and free up more of your time with Pomodoro technique! π
Sometimes it’s really hard to find motivation for accomplishing your goals. Especially when you start doing something new and you need to start learning the basics when your skills and abilities are not developed enough.
When you’re bad at something (at the beginning you are always bad) it’s really tough for you to feel pleasure and motivation doing your piece of work.
In my experience, the best way to overcome a rocky start in working on something you care about is to turn on the timer and just start working. Just start and allow the motivation to come and make you keep going with your task.
Lately I’ve learned a simple and effective technique which may be helpful – The Pomodoro Technique. Have you ever heard about it? If not I think you could definiately try it out because it’s really easy and it requires minimal setup:
The Pomodoro technique will:
Step 1: Choose a task you will be working on
Step 2: Prepare your working space by minimizing distractions
Step 3: Set a timer for 25 minutes
Step 4: Focus as much as you can. It’s only 25 minutes.
Step 5: Well done! You deserve a short, 5 minute break.
Step 6: It’s time to start another 25-minute long working session
Repeat steps 1-6 four times. Then take a longer (20-min) break.
I encourage you to experiment with this technique. Maybe you’d like to finish your work after 3 or 5 sessions. Remember that everyone is different and it’s really important to find the option which will suit the best for you, your workstyle and your needs.
I prepared a short printable infographic to make it easier for you to work. You can download it by clicking here.
What do you think about the Pomodoro technique? Have you tried it yet?
