How to create good habits and make them stick in 4 simple (but not easy) steps?

You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.

 John C. Maxwell

Have you ever been wondering how much of what we do daily is habitual and how does it influence our lives? Well, the conclusion is clear and simple: A HUGE part of our daily life is formed by repeated activities.

Some people get up at 6 am and go for a run everyday. Others don’t even think about any sports or activities. Some always have their shopping baskets filled with healthy food. Others choose to eat junk food every single day. There are people who have enjoyed success in life and there are also people who are feeling truly unhappy.

Why is that?

The secret is that the quality of those actions determines our success or failure. All you need to do is to choose good quality rituals and putting them into your life gradually instead the bad ones.

The process of getting into a habit

As I said earlier by changing your habits, you’ll bring change into your life. So – do you find building good habits difficult? I hope I could help you with that.

Building good habits with 4 simple rules

Sometimes even tiny changes can lead to amazing results. Here are the rules you have to follow to develop a new habit.

1st rule: Discover the power of pleasant thoughts

If you want to develop a new habit you need to feel exciting and pleasureble sensations from thinking about it and from doing it. And it goes both ways. Therefore, if you want to ged rid of bad habit you need to start thinking about it in a negative way.

2nd: Stop fighting

Don’t fight with your bad habits. Any attempt to put pressure on them might prove counterproductive. The best thing you can do to take the attention off these bad habits and focus on your personal growth by developing your skills and life’s passions instead.

3rd: Imagine a better life

Make a promise to yourself and think about your success. Try to visualize a better future. Feel it and believe in it. This should give you some energy for standing by your decision.

4th: Appreciate yourself

Notice the moment when you will be able to observe the first positive results of your new habit. This is the crucial step. To get motivation and energy for keep going you have to appreciate yourself for the hard work you put into that project.
